um, did you only check your battery voltage as you were cranking the bike over? or as it was running? Because if you didnt have the bike running when you checked the voltage, of course its going to be lower its drawing current to crank the engine. With the bikerunning it should probably be around 13-14 volts in the battery from the charging system. With your ignition off it should be around 12. Now with the corroded pin, i would go and replace it just yet unless you have one laying around. A small piece of sand paper and fold it a few times to make it stiff and push it in and around the pin, then spry out the connector with brake cleaner. Then either give it enough time to evaporate or blow it out with compressed air. That should clean up your terminals as long as the corrosion hasnt gotten too bad. When you go to put it back together, make sure you put some dielectric grease in the connector first to prevent the corrosion returning.

i checked the voltage with the bike running and it was around 12. off it was just about the same if not slightly more.
The corrosion on the connector is pretty bad it hardly has the shape of the pin any more i thought about cleaning it up anddepending on how much it costs i may still and see what happens. would the corrosion cause this problem like i said bike running voltage 11.7
sitting voltage 12.0
so if there is anything else i just decided i will clean it all first and see if that helps.
thanks again for the help

the grease just prevents corrosion but you still need metal to metal contact. if the pin for that connector is toast, i would say get a new connector or try loosening up the bad pin to see if you can get a good connection.

ok so i tried to clean it up and the one peice is toatolly corroded out i cant get a good connection i started it and ran it for about 5 minutes and checked the volts on the battery and it just stays around 12 and slowly goes down.
so where can i get a connector i am pretty sure i need one. could i just use a three pin flat connector like for trailor wiring or no
also should i just start pulling out the stator and check it or try to replace the connection first
then see what happens
thanks

If you know you need a new connector, then go ahead and fix it. Maybe you'll luck out and that will be what the problem is.
