1990 600f OEM regulators were crap.
03 954rr OEM regulators are good.

Completely different designs.

If there isn't a kit you can make a mosfet fit pretty easily. Once done you won't have an RR issue again. It's worth the effort and additional cost.

It's done all the time do a search. Wiring is the same you need plugs and splice them in. Make a mount out of aluminum plate.

I think do the wiring is not difficult. Only thing is that Honda 954 voltage regulator have two connectors 8 wires. One connector 2 red (positive) 2 Green (ground)1 black that goes to ECM and everywhere. The other connector three yellow to stator. What I do with that black wire that goes to ECM. MOSFET regulator that I have search have 5 pin.

Do a search. I did one on my 2007 VFR that had the same issue. I don't have all the info because it was a while ago. Go to the VFR forum and do a search. Very detailed instructions there and links to RR's and kits.

Personally I say get the electromotive one. Its better built, has a good warranty, and works perfectly every time. I also have the stator from them that has increased amps.

I ordered a RR from ricks motorsport, made in USA. looked pretty good at a reasonable price, 104 bucks. Anybody have experience with their products?

Excited to see if the green wire that connects to the RR mounting bolt is on this thing (its not in the picture). If it is not there how crucial is that wire to the thing working?

Never mind, ricks RR fits and worked like a charm guess theres no need for the third grounding wire in the mounting bolt.
