Default Chain isnt fitting right

Hello, I bought a 1988 Honda Hurricane 600 last week and ever since i brought it home the chain has been very noisy at crusin speed. I changed the sprocket to the orginal on and still the same thing. If i jack the back off the ground and spin the tire i notice the chain gets tight, then loose again, so something is messed up. I have noticed from the rear the tire is not exactly in the center of the tail and was wondering if it is possible that the swingarm is bent. If anyone has a hurricane and can check to see if the tire is in the center of the rear that would be great. this would most liekyl be the cause of the noisy chain. Thanks

possible sa is bent. Sounds as tho the chain is shot or maybe the pitch of the sprocket and chain is different.

more than likely the chain is stretched and the sprocket is worn. you should replace them as a set, both gears and the chain.

with it not being centered, i would think the rear subframe could be bent rather than the swingarm.

Did you check to make sure the chain is adjusted properly? Both sides adjusted the same amount as well as the correct chain tension

I had the same problem with the chain getting tight and then getting loose as I spun the wheel. New chain and sprockets took care of that issue. I agree with Tripicana on the possible bent subframe. Nice thing is, if it is a bent subframe then you and a friend can bend it back.( but not bend it like Beckham, unless Posh is there).

Go for the sumofallparts 520 chain/sprocket conversion kit. Seems like a good deal for the money. Others have used it.
