They're probably almost impossible to find now, but if you can locate a Fox twin clicker shock you can adjust the ride height with it. I got lucky and found one on Ebay a few years ago.. makes a huge improvement.
Before the twin clicker I played around with using a F2/F3 rear shock and linkage. I never finished the project since I found the Fox, but the newer shocks and linkage are longer than our stock units. The only problem is you have to shorten the aluminum dog-bone link and make a couple spacers for the other side for it to fit properly.
There were a couple posts on this forum where I got this info from and I believe a couple people had successfully done the swap..
