CBR 600F 1989 restoration
I add a little dish soap to the wet spray to give it more lubrication to be able to slide the decals into place.
On complicated ones like the F1 side stripes I lay them on the surface dry and mark the locations before I try to apply them.
2K Epoxy Clear on tanks is a must to protect them from fuel. You can get it in spray cans and apply yourself.

Cheers looking at the break down post of this bike for the year it shouldnt be this colour as there was only 3 colours in the uk
I did spray soapy water on them to get them lined up eventually its a learning i did the 2k clear on the tank(petrol resistant as well as we used 2k colour so to reduce the reaction but it didnt resist to petrol ate straight through the lot and we looked at it an thought orange peel cut it back with 2000 grit and compound to buff out but the reaction occurred to the paint not the decals the tank is acceptable but will do again
Yeah i did look into this they where tri colours but looking at the panels that where left in the bike you could see the pin stripe at the back so assummed after some internet trawling that it must have been this decal set
Even now after weeks of curing it still eating through the laquer i am just reqlly careful at fill ups but per previous when i have time it will be taken off and re done probably when i fit.in the next engine which has less than half the miles.this one has hoping its not gonna be as rattly
Nice. I'll have to post up pictures of the red and white "Hurricane" Bell helmet I picked up as a spare in 1989 when I bought my CBR. I still use it as a shop helmet for test rides even though it never matched my silver and white CBR and doesn't match any of the Harleys I mostly work on now.
