Hey everyone I have been looking fora used cbr for awhile now and just saw this one on craigslist. It would be my first bike so I was looking for something older but Im not sure if this one is worth it. Im wondering if a bike this old with so many miles would be reliable? yeah. i have that much in mine and its not as nice looking. seems like a fair price. I've seen them go any where bewteen 1000-2000 depending on who wants it and how nice it is.

 

All lot worth depends on what the market is like in your area (the old supply and demand thing). In my area, it would be worth it.

Reliability on these (generally speaking) seems to be pretty good. I did a lot of searching before I bought mine and found that a few people have gone over 100k and are still running. As for me, I am at 32k, and for the few months I have owned it, I have not had any problems. I have found with cars, and I would imagine the same is true with bikes, that reliability though often comes down to how well it was treated and maintained. A bike that has been treated poorly might not see 15k, whereas others have shown us they can go over 100k. Try to get a feel on how it has been treated while talking with the owner.

As for the wheels, you could always have them painted.

looks nice. cheaper and better condition than i got mine. as stated, life of vehicles often reflects that of their owner's care. my cane has 40K on it and is running strong, albeit, she was in pretty bad shape when i bought her though.

 

mine has 45k on the bike and runs like a champ. i finally got my carbs and miss out of the way. change my plugs everytime i change my oil helps out with everything. take care of her she will take care of you
