Bike runs like crap
Ok i bought this bike non-running and finally got it running after cleaning the carbs and changing the tank. I have been riding it as is but it feels like it has no power at all, it bogs starting off and just feels gutless throughout the rpm range. The fastest I got it to go is 75 mph which is horrible. The bike sounds great and sounds like it wants to run fast but doesnt. What could be wrong?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Bike runs like crap
could very well be a sync problem.
how many miles have you put on it since you changed the plugs? Might wanna pull them and 'read' them. See if you can find one thats running rich or lean.
Also, with the tank and airbox off, look into the carbs and tiwst the throttle full and make sure the buterflies are opening all the way and at about the same time (sync problem).
Did you replace the fuel filter? If it has an inline one between the tank and carbs it might be boned up. If it only has the in-tank one get a flashlight and make sure it isnt all full of rust and junk.

I have put 150 miles since the plug change and I just changed the fuel filter, I will take oneplug out and see how it looks. The butterflies all open about the same time. I thought a sync problem would only cause starting and idling problems? it starts quick and idles fine, but it does run a littlebetter when warmed up

ok so i think i know this problem.....its either that your carb jets are clogged OR
you have a clog in your fuel petcock....that nifty lil on off switch thats utterly useless?!? yup that guy...hit it with high strength degreaser and compressed air....if sludge comes flying out all over you, your problem is solved....otherwise, check your fuel lines for stability....
