Default Bike overheating

Hey guys

My cbr600F is getting very warm when I drive in slow traffic, but in the open the temp is fine. I have confirmed that the fan goes on and the oil and water levels are also fine. Is this a sign of a waterpump breaking? Also, I don't know if this is related, but when the bike gets warm, it struggles to idle. Please help!

Thanks

i think its normal. these bike are known to run hot.just as long as the temp guage doesnt max out then there is something wrong. also you might have air or fuel problems with your bike on idle.

yea i changed out my air and fuel filter and added a can of sea foam. that seafoam stuff is the sh**. but it also better to take the carbs out completely and cleaning them out that way.

You will find that it is also a problem in cars. It is common in "slow" or "Stop and go" traffic. I think that it is mainly because the radiator isn't getting enough air flow, and the water pump isn't pushing the coolant threw the engine fast enough. But I don't know exactly why. lol

Yup. It still makes me VERY nervous though...I just can't imagine that it is normal for a bike to heat up until it is just below red. I'm also to afraid to just leave it and see what happens!

Has anyone ever tried a slightly lower temp. thermostat? Does it even exist?
