Bike dies when coasting down hill
I got this 1990 cbr about a month ago from about three hours away from where I live. Rode it home no issues whatsoever aside from on the last leg of the journey, literally less than a minute from my house, I was holding the clutch and coasting down a hill and it just decided to die. Couldn't get it started allegedly because of a blown fuse (Fuel pump wasn't getting power?). Spent the last month fixing a couple wiring issues it had and replacing blown fuses. Finally got it all buttoned up today and took it for a ride but the exact same thing happened when I was coasting down a hill with the clutch in and the bike just died. This time no fuses were blown and I was able to get it started back up to ride home with a little effort but I'm not sure why it does that. Easy answer is just don't coast down hills but anyone know what's up with that?
Idle is set too low? Blocked idle jets? Clutch dragging?
And yes - don't EVER coast down hills - you should be in gear with the clutch engaged unless you are changing gear, stationary, or about to stop.
