Bad News for my CBR600....
Well i guess everytime something bad happens in life one should take that experience and learn something from it. I sure learned the hard way. Hence I learned that while riding a motorcycle you should never trust the car in front of you no matter what their indications might be.It was June 2nd 2007, and I was traveling westbound on a not so busy intersection. Light was green and so i kept going. There was a car waiting to turn left in front of me. I saw him. He saw me. He pulled up into his the left lane to turn Northbound and as he did he hesitated because I was coming. It happened so fast, within a blink of an eye. He decided that he was going to beat me to the light, I was too close I could not stop, I hit the back brake, my back tire started going underneath me. I let go of the rear brake because i did not want to go underneath the car. I had nowhere to go. I knew I was going to hit. In a last attemp I forged my legs closer to the gas tank and ducked as low as I could. I was preparing for the inevitable. And then it happened............ glass was everywhere, my face shield had come off, my bike was leaking oil. There was a frantic woman on the passenger side of the car where the impact happened. she had a few abrasions on her face and neck. I got up.....adrenaline was definetaly pumping.... I did not feel any pain. I looked at my surroundings, people rushed to see if i was ok. Which I was. In a few minutes the paramedics came and took my vitals. I was glad that I was allright no broken bones just a broken spirit.
within a few days after the accident my body was aching especially my lower back. and I am still awaiting to see what I will do with my CBR...........ill keep you guys posted....... have a safe ride.......

Sounds like that was a close one -- glad you're ok.
Don't worry about the bike too much, you can always get another one. The good news? Now you've got astory to share with all your riding buddies.

glad to hear you came out still kicking. some people just dont realize what kind of reprecussions their decisions have, this guy wanted to save five seconds and it could have cost you your life. as already stated, the bike can be fixed, you can only be repaired so much. were you geared up? (jacket, gloves)
take it as a lesson learned, ride it like they're gunnin for ya!

If it was not bad enough watching out for the people who do not see us, we have to watch out for jerks too. I certainly will be keeping that in mind the next time I go out.

Yeah I was wearing my gear, which includes: Leather Jacket, Leather Gloves, Full Face Helmet (of course) and boots. And yes I do have insurace and I also have uninsured motorist coverage, "its a must have in Los Angeles".............. as far as liability for the accident goes that will be decided by the insurance companies. Im not worried about that too much because the police officers on the scene said that I had pretty "much have the case in the bag". So I just have to be patient. Im already starting to gather info on restoring the bike so I have that in mind right now.
