removing my front fairing (whats left of it anyway) and mounting the oil cooler somewhere else.

Looked at it in a few different spots and was thinking that I may just turf it all together.

Sorry for the crap pictures.

I would definitely not run without. Someone did the testing and decided that the oil would run too hot unless they added a cooler. Otherwise it would have been cheaper and easier to build the bikes without. You risk damage to your engine if you remove it.

I assume by "someone" you meant the factory? Good point.

I don't have any fairings mounted so the hot air isn't as likely to get trapped against the engine.

but at the rpm the motors run at the oil is getting heated pretty well, even with no fairings mounted. on a side not, I like the look of the bike as it is, and what exhaust is that? good luck with whatever you decide

Exhaust is a D&D. I painted it black and put the brass (actually aluminum) knuckles logo on the can. After that picture was taken I cut a few inches off the can.

Here are a couple of newer ones (sorry for the cellphone quality pics).

I think your Oil cooler is more important then your rad. If you look at older Honda's like the night hawk etc they don't have a rad but they have an oil cooler.
It's also a part of the system to keep your oil circulating. Which helps improve the engines longevity. And certain parts from overheating more then others.
