90 600 no start?

Just picked up a 90 cbr 600. Wont start. Turns over, Plugs looked wet, and fuel comes out of the carb drain. Pulled #1 plug it sparks. Triple checked the plug wires. Also the fuel pump doesnt kick on, bypassed it for now, anyone know what voltage should be going to the fuel pump when it should be priming? Or where to start next with trying to get it to start, only got it to backfire once. every once in a while it seems to want to catch and run but doesnt.

Have you checked the rod which pulls choke plungers on carburetors? There is a common problem that the lever (attached to choke wire and the rod) gets loose, so the plungers won't move at all.

I was pushing the lever by hand just to see. I got fed up and pulled the carbs. Going through and cleaning them now, I have a copy of a shop manual to make sure I get everything done right. Only then did I find out the little black knob under them goes to absolutely nothing. And that every carb is full of junk. PO said he cleaned the carbs a few weeks ago... Ray Charles could have done a better job

Okay so carbs are good as new. Cleaned spotless and Set up as best I can without being able to start the bike. Still wont run, getting plenty of fuel for sure, every plug is new and sparks well. Sometimes the engine almost seems to want to start, like it begins to pick up but never catches. Drained the oil and theres not any metallic swirling around. Whats next the timing?? or should i just jump straight to adjusting the valves? Ive worked on plenty of Small/ big block V8's but never really tore past the carbs on a Bike like this. Or should I compression test it? If so are there any specific things to keep in mind when compression testing a bike like this?

Did you get the little black knob connected?
That is the idle adjustment screw.

I did not. The whole center bit of it is missing. Shouldn't matter tho. The end of it keeping it in its place is still there so it should be well enough to run. Also anyone know where I can get a new idle adj assembly. the screw in it now should work well enough to even get it start

i don't have the same generation as you as I have a f3. But it does matter on my bike.

EBay is a great place to buy that kind of stuff. I'v purchased entire carb rails so I have what I need when I need it.

For the time being I just found a screw thats the same thread and screwed it in. Pain in the ass yes, but it should at least allow me to get this thing to fire.

Did you bench sync the carbs and get the fuel/air mixture set correctly?
