Default '89 electrical weirdness

First off, the button for the ignition does nothing but shut off the head light when pushed- which it should...but nothing else. When I bought it, I had to replace the headlight and the fuse but it worked. Till now. It totally died on me about 90 seconds after starting. Head light is out and fuse blown. Got a new lamp, replace fuse, it immediately blows the fuse when I turn it on and the lamp doesn't have a chance to work because of that. So why would that circuit be so over energized and why is it keeping the bike from running? Another weird thing is the front right blinker just comes on and stays on until you activate the right-hand blinker and then it turns off! Both rear blinkers function as normal. I am clueless about electrical...ground fault? Practically nothing is where it's supposed to be according to the documentation I've found and it's just a mess! Aaauuggghhh! My baby is down!

1. Test with the bulb out - if it still blows the fuse, then there's a short you need to track down.
2. Replace blinker relay.

Did you get this fixed?

Do test without headlight bulb? Did it still blow fuse?

Most likely start-button has broken wires inside that shorts headlight circuit, instead of disconnecting when pushed like it should.
