Default 89 600 questions

1. is the ecu waterproof? 2. fuel injected? 3. what oil goes in through the clutch cover? 4. LED lights a good idea?

Wouldn't test the "ECU" (I think CDI would probably describe it better) for waterproofness. The connector would probably be the point of water ingress. The CBR600 didn't get fuel injection until the F4i, in 2001. There is only one oil used on the bike, that is engine oil, that lubricates both the engine and transmission. LED lights are a pain in the rear for not a whole lot of benefit IMO. The reflectors and lenses were designed to use regular bulbs, using LEDs messes with that. Not to mention you have to put resistors inline if you want your turn signals to flash correctly.

3: engine oil. Motorcycle specific... important because it also lubes the clutch and most car oil will make the clutch slip
4: Not really, unless your current lights are busted and you know how to add proper resistors. If you want to get rid of the big square turn signals look for a set of modern stock signals off of an R6 or something as they are still incandescent (so no resistors necessary) but are smaller and look better.

PS. search the internet for the CBR 600 F1 manual, shop manual, clymer manual, etc.

well, i got this bike for parts and i plan on putting it in a sand rail or something similar. the reason i ask is because it doesn't have oil in it and the clutch cover is missing. also while looking through the wiring diagram, i noticed that there is a fuel pump and i don't see much use for it if the bike uses carbs and if fuel tank is mounted above the carbs. and i plan on romping through the wet muddy fields, so i wanted to know if i had to make a waterproof box for the cdi or not.

and i wanted to make a led taillight and headligts for it because they are bright, dont get hot, and are more durable than the regular bulbs

The fuel pump is there because the lower part of the stock fuel tank is lower than the carbs and with gravity alone it can starve for fuel at WOT.

so if i mounted the tank so the bottom of it is above the carbs, i wouldnt need the pump?

Maybe not, If your tank flows and your floats are adjusted It sounds possible. Somebody mentioned using the motor for a banshie. Neat idea.
Put your cdi box inside a balloon/bag, it doesn't get hot. Honda cars have used 10w 30 in their manuel transmissions for 30years.

so does the pump act as a regulator in a way so that the right amount of fuel is sent to the carbs, so that i would be able to put the tank anywhere with the pump hooked up and it would perform the same?
