87 600 engine build? blown gasket

I bought an 87 cbr600 endurance racer but still not on track yet. Motor is out for a blown gasket.
I'd like to spec an engine build while its on the bench. Buddy will port and polish the head, and looking for a list of other mods/parts to consider while motor is out.
Its a l
ow mile engine, was never opened.
Ignition mod, custom header, R6 slipon, DynoJet stage 2, airbox mod, and some other basic race mods.
I'm really looking forward to this project. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can have the heads ported and polished.
5 angle valve job.
You can mill the head to raise compression ratio.
Webcams will weld and grind your cams to whatever specs you want, but your stock cams get sacrificed in the mod.
NO ONE makes rods or pistons anymore, so you have to custom order.
You can switch to coil on plug from a newer bike for better ignition.
Factory pro still makes shift kits and ignition advances for these. Both help a ton.
Electrosport makes upgraded regulator and rectifiers.
If you are tearing it completely down and starting fresh, I always chamfer all my oiling holes on any moving part, cam, crank, etc. I also usually open up all my oil lines, polish up what is there, open up the inlet, remove casting flash, etc.
If it is only going to be a track bike you can clip the water pump vanes. If you do this it will NEVER be able to street driven as it will overheat unless it is revving high.
Regearing with sprockets also helps.
