It's a beauty. Don't touch it! This bike is VERY close to a classic and a serious collectible. To change the color would reduce the value. $1700 is a great price-- it is already worth more. Touch the original paint and that thing is worth $1200.
My two cents, ESPECIALLY AFTER SEEING THE ARTICLE IN MOTORCYCLIST MAGAZINE! Same bike too.

I'm with Smitty and kamakazi..... I have the exact same bike..... except the last owner fudged it up with some cheap paint..... I paid $1000..... keep in mind that you have an iconic bike...... and all of the price quotes I have gotten to paint the thing with good paint and a clean clear are around $1000-$1600.....
if you want a CBR with poopy paint you can trade me

I have the same exact bike, but the guy that had it before me painted on pin striping right over where the dark gray overlaps the white (over the paint line) and while trying to remove it, have burned through the dark gray layer of paint. I want to repaint the bike the original colors. I have the paint codes off of the sticker on the frame, but I can not find anywhere to order the paint from!!!

Mine is a 1990, but looks the same minus the decals the previous owner removed (the one on the tank is still there as its under the clear coat). I'm almost at 11k on the odometer. The bike runs absolutely perfect since a performed a sealer kit on the gas tank that was rusted inside clogging the filter up in the tank. Just put new plugs in it also.
I'm actually considering repainting it the stock colors due to it being an older bike in excellent condition/low miles (besides scratches and some chips in it)and storing it in hopes to make some money on it one day. I don't know though, wouldn't be worth it to store a few years to make $500.I have also considered repainting it custom too.
