1990 CBR600F slip on diameter?
Does anyone know the ID of the muffler or the OD of the pipe?
I have someone local with a muffler but am not home to measure myself. Trying to pick this up today. Thanks! |
Do you want the header OD or the mid pipe? I can go measure ones I have in the shop.

All of the slip on's measure 2" ID. They are all designed for mid pipe. The headers measure 1 7/8" OD. So the mid pipes go on the header and increase the OD to 2" then the slip on slides over the mid pipe.

I didn't get with that guy before he closed shop, but am going back today. This did give me chance to go home and measure my own, looks like it is just under 2.00 OD at what I believe is the header. I am assuming there was once a mid pipe or the stock muffler had a section with a slight turn in it to bring it on angle with the bike itself. Otherwise if I mount a straight muffler to this it will stick out a lot. I have one header like yours. The stock header doesn't have that bend in the pipe and terminates lower. The stock muffler has the extra pipe on it. Basically you can make anything that is close work. I put a Kawasaki Ninja upswept muffler on the Playboy bike. It was 2 1/8" diameter. I just put a packing in there. Smaller diameter than approx. 1 7/8" might not work.
