The gas tank on my hurricane is rusted up pretty bad. After using diluted muriatic acid to remove the rust, several holes opened up. At least 9 i believe. I want to just buy a new tank and want to know, what tanks from other models will fit or will the Cbr1000 tank fit the 600?

 

I was able to solder pin holes from the outside. Spray with detergent water, presurise the tank with the exhaust from a vacuum clearner for example, and it will blow bubbles at the pin holes. Got to get rid of some paint around each hole. Soldering iron, a heavy one as its got to heat the metal where the pin hole is, flux core solder wire, make the solder run, not form a droplet, by applying heat and flux solder. If its a dirty surface, it won't run. Then maybe clean and epoxy seal the tank internals. Maybe carefully file the high spots of the solder off. I did that. But before I figured it out, but only after I bought a second hand tank and got the bike riding.
