Default Honda CBR 1100 XX clutch lever

Hello guys
Last week I bought a Honda CBR 1100 XX with 20,000 km.
I have doubt about the operation of the clutch lever, because when I release the lever it gives a little "jump" almost at the end of the stroke.
The release of the lever is not smooth....
It's normal or is a issue?

Hi.

I don't think that is normal.

It might just need lubricating. Is the clutch hydraulic or cable operated?

Does it operate correctly (no noise/slipping ect)?

If cable then I'd lube the lever mechanism, the cable and clutch mechanism at the other end of the cable.

If hydraulic, I'd do all of the above and bleed the clutch fluid as well.

Hi
The clutch is hydraulic.
Yes don't make noise if I release the lever very slowly, but if I release it fast I get a clank noise from the clutch.
The hydraulic fluid was replaced and the system bleed...
What points I need to lubricate?
The bike was stopped since 2014 (previous owner get sick), 2 years stopped.... I replaced engine oil, filters, brake fluid, clutch fluid, refrigerator fluid, etc...

I'm not familiar with the Blackbird clutch, but the lever mechanism looks the same as the CBR1000F, the workshop manuals are here :-

It would be a good place to start.

Hi,

Sounds to me like you may have a damaged matter cylinder valve. This could be because the bike has been stood. I had the same issue with a cbr1000f and the fluid has left ridges of solid crud inside the valve seat and it gave me the same symptoms your getting.

The cute for me was to drain the clutch fluid, remove the resouvoir from the bars, strip down the master cylinder and replace it with an after market kit (original parts are good to, just cost more). I got the kit from ebay if that helps. It's a little fiddly and took about an hour. On completion no more jolting of the clutch lever and a nice smooth action.

I got this helps, and good luck with the repair..

This is the kit I had for my cbr1000, so I bet they will be a xx version on eBay.. Hope it helps

Found this for a blackbird but you will have to look again if this isn't for your year of bike..

Oh a nice tool to buy or borrow is a vacuum bleeder, makes life easier and one person can bleed the system. There about £10-12 on eBay. You can use a bleed hose but you will need someone to help..
