Intermittent starting problem

My 1998 blackbird fails to start and the problem is intermittent.
When I insert the key and turn on the ignition, sometimes the clocks spedo needle doesnt rotate as normal, and I dont hear any sounds like I normally do, and the bike doesnt start when I push the start button.
However, sometimes if I leave it for a while and try it again, it will start when I try later.
Its very annoying, any ideas please?

RE: Intermittent starting problem

I had this kind of fault on my CBR1000F.

Have a look at your battery fluid levels. Mine were down.

Changed the battery and everything went back to reliable.

How about the connections at the battery, and the other ends of the two cables? Sounds like an intermittent connection in that area.
