Default front sprocket

Guys,
Is it normal for the front sprocket to be slightly wobbley with abit of play?
We're talking a milimetre of play. Would like to put my mind at rest.
Thanks for your feedback Brendon

Is the sprocket moving on the shaft, or are they moving as a unit? The sprocket moving on the shaft is NOT okay and needs to be secured.

The entire shaft/sprocket assembly moving as a unit is normal within limits. Rotational movement is normal drivetrain lash that becomes greater as the gears wear. Side-to-side movement (endplay) is also normal. Neither is likely to be a problem until the gearbox is totally trashed, and by then you'll likely be experiencing bigger problems.
