Default will 06-07 fairings fit 04-05 bike ?

iv seen a couple people now with 04 cbr 1000's with 06-07 fairing kits mounted on them.
What has to be modified to get them to fit ? are the headlights the same ?

if someone can let me know that would be great !!

the headlights are the same. I think they carry a different part number. because the 06-07 use a thicker piece of foam above the headlight lens, but thats the only difference, at least what I can see. I have an 06 headlight on my bike right now, and its an 05. the tail fairing is also the same, the tank cover is the same, the fairing stay is the same. Most of the mounts are the same location, such as the side fairing mounts, but I think there a few that are not. I think the mounts by the upper fairing are different, but not 100 percent sure. Either way, I dont think it would be too hard of a swap. I think you could easily make the mounting brackets, or possible just swap in the ones for the 06-07. I think you also need the 06-07 inner fairings, the ones behind the front wheel that tie the lowers together.

All in all, probably one of the easiest fairing swaps out there.

looks like you'll need:
06/07 radiator
HRC overflow bottle
and of course... 06/07 plastics

yes they will i have done the swap for about 30 diff customers ..

the OBVIOUS
uppers are different and so are mids----that being said you need to buy 4 8-12$ brackets thats about it ...

tank, tail, headlight, basically everything else all the same...

the NOT SO OBVIOUS.....
radiator, overflow and inner trim pannels need to be changed as well

the 06-7 rad is shorter, hence if you use 04-5 rad on 06-7 fairings you will not be able to mount them
that being said also the rad overflow bottle is way different ... and obviously the inner trim pannels as well

other than that should be a straight fwd swap...

you may have to move a few small harness adjustments.. but not a big deal ..
GL ... let me know if you need any parts i have 06-7 fairings... trim pannels, rads, overflows etc...
