Here is my dilemma! I plan on getting a 1000cc Sportbike and have decidedon the CBR1000RR or the GSXR1000.IfI had to pick today it would be the Honda but the GSXRis a very close second. Since 2008 is coming to a close should I grab a 2008 CBR and perhaps get some deal on it or wait until 2009 when the new models are released? I am afraid if I wait until 2009 it will be tough to get the new body change of the Gixxer and on top of that pay sticker. Since I am more farmiliar with autos than motorcyle releases do you think the 09 CBR's and Gixxer's will be out yet this year or Marchish of next? Any ideas would be great and what do they plan on doing to the 09 CBR 1000 if anyone knows?

 

09 cbr will be the same, different colors but the same.

i'd pick up an 08 now with a great deal but get the 5 year warranty you never know, and you CAN haggle the warranty, I got a 5 year extended unlimited miles on mine for 500 bucks.

 

I'd agree with that, if you get the GSXR it'll just be beaten again by the new CBR1000 that comes out in '10. +1 about the extended waranty, worth every penny if you can get it for that price!

 

if your planning on the deal part, wait longer if you can. I already knew when I bought mine I wanted an 07 and not the new 08 (great bike, but looks hadnt grown on me yet at the time). So I bought mine AFTER the 08's came out. I got mine brand spankin new for 9300 out the door. Did the same thing some years ago with my 02 954rr. Bought my 02 when the 03 came out, and paid I think 10 OTD

 

Yea waiting can pay off in price. I would get the gsxr personally, and if i really wanted an 08 for a good price i would wait till the 09 comes out.

 

I am just curious is the motorcyle sportbike consumer more brand loyal or what is the fastest for that year and buy from that? I have ridden motorcyles for quite a while and am more brand loyal than anything else myself. Cust curious.

 

Suzuki would be my last choice.

 

Clubster i would say brand loyal for bikes, more often then not anyhow.

 

I am most def brand loyal. I currently own my 4th CBR, or 5th Honda if you count the 50. lol. Never owned a different brand. No good reason for it I guess, I just am. Dunno why. haha

 

Just out of curiosity why? I could care less either way butjust trying to learn.
