Default Velocity Stack Kit for the 1kRR

I've looked on over 100 sites and can't find any except for the 600rr.... Has anyone seen or know of a company that makes the easy power add'r? And if you didn't read the topic, I'm talking about Velocity Stacks.

The gain is not worth the price on a 1000RR.

i've yet to see any aftermarket stacks make more hp on an 06 1krr. i've known of some 04/05 owners switching to the 06 stacks, which do make more power.

The OEM 2004/2005 and 2006 stacks are quite different when you have them sitting side by side.
I have not seen any dyno's that prove the 2006 make more power, but it would be a good asumption.
They may not even make more (or less) power, they could just change the shape of the power curve slightly.
With the slightly higher reving 2006, and more aggressive IN cam (2004 HRC intake), the '06 is definatly tuned to make
it's power higher up.

HRC makes some funnels for both, so if you REALLY want them, look into that.

Someday I'm going to do a back-to-back dyno with 05 vs 06 stacks. Then we'll know for sure.

2004: http://www.akrapovic-exhaust.com/mai...ts-catalog.htm (select Honda then 04/05 1000RR EVO system)

2006: http://www.akrapovic-exhaust.com/mai...oduct-news.htm (scroll down to the 2006 1000RR)

Doesn't look there is much difference between the two (<1hp), whether stock or w/ full system. I think everyone 'thinks' the bike is faster simply because of the gearing change. The output is extremely similar but then again 06 was just a freshing, not a new design.

Thats (1) 2004 and (1) 2006.

When comparing many bikes, the 2006's do make more power.

On Avg, they are making about 4rwhp more then a stock 04/05.

How can it not? It's basically the same motor, only with (slightly) more compression,
an HRC intake cam, slightly ported head, and more effiecent injectors.

Honda claims 75% of the gains are from the headwork. Which really means about 3hp.

they have a good write up on this topic @ 1000rr.net, I'm personally going to be installing the '06 stacks onto my '04 and also installing the ATECH intake module......easy mods for not that much $$......
