Tail Bag Recommendations Please

RE: Tail Bag Recommendations Please
I have had the Cortech Sport rear for a few months and really like it.
The attachement can be made with the elastic straps and hooks, or more
securely by using the nylon flat straps and cris-crossing them under the rear passenger seat
then locking it in place. Neither approach is perfectly elegant, but it works.
The bag itself is solid, no issues with zippers. It also comes with a rain cover and shoulder
strap. It expands big enough to fit my bike cover in it, which was quite surprising to me.
It works for me, and it does everything I thought it would.
Chris.

I've got one of these that does fine for a weekend road trip:

and one of these that's expandable:

I just use a backpack for commuting back and forth to work.

Congrats to you for doing it. In my opinion, you learn a lot about yourself and your bike when you go on an extended trip like that.

+ 1 on the Joe Rocket Velocity, I believe that now it's become the Recon 23 tailbag from Rapid Transit, these guys are great and stand behind their products 100%

RE: Tail Bag Recommendations Please
Looks like the Cortech is pretty popular. Here's a pic of both the tail and saddle bags together on my '06 1kRR. Each work pretty well individually and the saddle/tail combo holds enough for an extendedweekend trip.
+10 on NewEnough.com!! My first tail bag had a manufacturing defect and NewEnough went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of.

RE: Tail Bag Recommendations Please
Comet, Thanks for the pics on the Cortech Tail and saddle bags. I ended up going with Cortech and feel better seeing them in full on another bike. They are due in today! Also, Thanks to everyone else for your posts. Glad I joined this forum, lots of great info.
