Default Superbike Supply H.I.D **now with pics**

Big thanks to Brad at Super Bike supply for the fast shipping on my H.I.D kit, Puig screen, Clear alt tail light and LSL sliders!!

The H.I.D is out of this world. Super bright for back roads bombing. It's a total night/day difference!

Thanks Brad!! [sm=happy046.gif]

It's a Japanese generic kit. I just got one for the low beam. I believe it's a 8k bulb. Super bright though. I might snag a lower kelvin bulb later on. The kits nice because it integrates the ballast and the igniter. I pulled the flapper canister put the ballast in its place. It took me longer to figure out where to put the kit then it did for me to hook it up.

Well I'm not an expert on H.I.D.s but I do know a slick package and setup when I see it. This one is very sturdy and well put together. The ballast is solid and water tight. It comes with plenty of zip ties, a mounting plate and adhesive strips. The instructions are pretty generic leaning towoards automotive use. My only complaint is the base of the bulb fits our bikes but the bikes stock assy that holds the bulb in place doesnt quite make contact. This leaves the bulb somewhat loose in the socket. I used some material to create a barrier to hold it in place. This by no means takes away from the kit, I lean towoards being **** about fit and potential probs. Great kit all around. Install is a breeze but like I mentioned most of your time is spent figuring out where you want to put the ballast.

Price is $150 for a single setup and $300 for a full set. The price is comenserate with other kits I've seen plus Brad is very helpful for any questions you'll have.

I ran into the same issue on my 929 HID install. The stock housing is made to hold that big black honda H7 adapter, where as the hid kit is just the H7 bulb alone in the socket. I did simmilar to you to clamp things down better.

Used a file to open up the hole in the washer to fit around the base and then used a ring of tinfoil to apply more even pressure on the bulb. Worked pretty well.

I'd like to see some install pics from your setup, I sold my HID kit because I couldn't see a clean way to get it all on the bike. The 1000rr is just too densely packed.

How many mm thickness did you use on that washer/spacer? I'll have pics up tonight on my ballast placement and wire management.

Not sure to be honest. I just grabbed a handfull of large washers from the local hardware store, adjusted to fit.
