I have a ZG windscreen and it tells you on the package it might do that.

 

so does the puig. it has a warning that if left in the sun i will melt the plastic

 

and this is why i park my bike on the covered patio at work, that and it really don't like grilling my butt

 

I know I'm on the wrong forums because I have an f4i but I have a Sportech chrome screen and on the backside it's black with a bunch of holes in it. I can still see through it but it's supposed to help so that kind of thing doesn't happen.

Any aftermarket windscreen has the potential to melt gauges. I'm not sure how the Honda guys do it, but amazingly after only nearly 75 years of research and engineering and testing and studying, it seems that they have figured out how to make stuff that works great without need for modification. Man they're pretty smart little f*****s, huh?

 

Look on the bright side, at least it didn't melt the back face like mine did. Still trying to look for a replacement part. I also have a very small close to unnoticable mark on the same part, but not worth changing unless I get a whole new speedo. Anyone know where to get one?

 

U mean the speedo dial?? If it is..you can try e-bay. They have the illumiglo speedo dial for CBR 1000RR.
