I just came from a trip and made about 800 miles in two days....during 40-50 mph riding without hands, my steering starts to shake like crazy!! If I hold it just with one hand, nothing. The bike is 2005 and just made 3500 miles on it. I hit a couple of times hard put holes on the freeway. I think that I have lost the weights on front wheel from impact from put holes (I don't recall seeing weights on front wheel anyway, on rear wheel I have two)

Please help...

 

What was the tire pressures on th front, if on the low side this would cause the shakes. Should also check the front rim for any signs of damage. However the HESD should be damping the shakes, probably worthwhile to check that out if all else fails.

 

I found the problem! I lost the weight on the front wheel. Going on friday to rebalance.
