sprocket help...
I'm currently thinking of buying a sprocket to bring the powerband down, so that the bike comes up a little sooner on power ups. I don't wanna kill myself due to the fact that, I'm still learnig how to due wheelies.
As of right now on power ups in second, the bike comes up around 80 mph thats really high.
I know I need a pCIII but while im still saving. What should I do...
I was wondering if:
Should I go down 1 in the front(which is four in the back)?
or
Go up Two in the back?
as far as engine work All I have is flapper modd and two brothers slip on.
Really appreciate your input thanks in advance...

RE: sprocket help...
Change the front sprocket. Go one tooth down(less). It is the same as going 3 to 4 teeth more on the back sprocket. Just easier to go one down on the front, cause if you go 3 or 4 more teeth on the rear you will need to buy a longer chain. Thats why it is easier to just go one down on the front... Baxsom also recommends that you also change to a 520 conversion while your at it. Which is skinnier sprockets and chain. I just went one down on the front and bought new front sprocket, new D.I.D chain, new rear alloy sprocket. I didn't do the 520 conversion as I always ride on the street and have been told that unless you race or track ride alot that it is not recommended. Due to it being a 1000cc bike that the chain would streech easier than a 530.. But there are alot of people who do the 520 conversion and say it is less unsprung weight so it revs better?? But it does wear out chain and sprockets quicker!
I recommend you go one tooth down on front sprocket! as this is what I did.... As for 520 conversion(thinner sprockets and chain).. Not sure as I have not done this and can not say....Ask others that have and make up your own prefference and weigh up what is better for your style of riding....

RE: sprocket help...
thanks fellas
one down in the front is the easiest and cheapest way to go...
I was just afraid of being to much,(like coming from a turn on the highway and while still leaning the bike coming up on me. thats just for pros not for me, yet
once again thanks for all of your input.
will be doing it soon so i'll let you know how it turns out.

RE: sprocket help...
our bikes are tame enough that unless you really crack the throttle to WOT it will not come up out of a turn
i have a 520
-1/+1 conversion done and coming out of a curve to half throttle or so and it is fine
the 520 chain is fine
according to the site owner of 1000rr.net
the DID ERV3 520 is stronger than the oem 530 chain
as long as you get quality harnened aluminum sprockets like from AFAM or sprocket specialist they will last
