SPARK PLUGS FOULED?ONLY 200 MILES
OK, I TRIED EVERYTHING![:'(]I MOVED MY BIKE YESTERDAY FROM MY DRIVE WAY TO THE STREET. IT RAN FINE. GOT BACK ON IT TO MOVE IT INTO THE GARAGE GOR THE NIGHT AND IT WOULDN'T START. DID EVERYTHING THE OWNERS MANUAL TOLD ME TO DO AND NO LUCK. WIDE OPEN THROTTLE,TRIED TO START AND NOTHING. LET IT SIT FOR 24 HRS AND TRIED AGAIN AND NOTHING. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT LAST MONTH, AND HE SAID YOU CAN'T START THE 1000RR AND ONLY MOVE IT A SHORT WAY BECAUSE YOU OVER LOAD THE CYLINDERS. SO I THINK I FOULED THE PLUGS? HAS ANY ONE EVER RAN INTO THIS PROBLEM. THE BIKE ONLY HAS 200 MILES ON IT. IS THERE AN EASIER FIX THAN CHANGING OUT THE PLUGS? PLEASE HELP I NEED TO RIDE!!!!!

Thats a crock of cow dung(start it for a short time and loading the cylinders). I start my bike all the time and drive it from the front of the shop to the back of the shop, a total of about 100 feet. It never fails to start no matter how long it sits.
Did you use the kill switch to shut it off? The 1000RR will still crank (unlike my F4i)but not start if the kill switch is in the off position.

haha, I did that. what CBR_Rod said, It was at night so I didnt notice it right away but I had jusr parked my bike for a little while at my buddies house and when I came back out to leave, it wouldnt start, i tried full throttle starts and all that and nothing. it would crank but thats it. I finally noticed the kill switch and wow, it started lol. I just bought an 07 and I start it for a few seconds to move it or just to hear it and it still starts every time no problem and I only have 290 miles on mine. I know this no help to you but just letting you know it doesnt hurt to start it and shut it off shortly after. maybe a wire came loose? i dont know what to tell you but good luck

sorry bud you gotta get to those plugs.. i flooded mine this spring and it was due to putting a certain fuel stabilizer in it last fall.. I also flooded my gsxr 1000 and hayabusa. Had to change all the plugs. Do you have old old gas in it? Did you put an additive to the gas?

RE: SPARK PLUGS FOULED?ONLY 200 MILES
the plugs are fouled starting it up and not getting it fully up to temp will do that especially with the iridium plugs that are in it. i work at a honda shop and we put bikes out front every day and this will happen if the bike is started and stopped. We have a used 05 and a new employee and thanks to that i had to put new plugs in the bike. oh yeah cheap gas makes it worse

I'D LIKE TO SAY THANKS FOR THE HELP. I CALLED AN OLD BUDDY OF MINE AND HE TOLD ME TO BREAK DOWN THE BIKE AND USE SOME CARBEURATOR CLEANER
AND A TORCH ON THE ENDS OF THE SPARK PLUGS. WELL 5-1/2 HRS LATER SHES PURRING LIKE A KITTEN. I DID THIS ON SATURDAY AND NOW I KNOW BETTER TO DO COLD STARTS OR SHORT RIDES WITH THE BIKE. SPARK PLUGS WERE A BITHCH TO GET AT BUT WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS IT CAN BE DONE.5" RATCHET, A TELESOPING MAGNET, AND A 5/8" SPARK PLUG SOCKET. NOT TO MENTION MULTIPLE CUSSINGS AND A 12ER OF BEER!! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO TRIED TO HELP!!! SEE YA ON THE ROAD!!!
