Slip on Help!!!!!!
Hey everyone I'm putting an slip-on on my 05 CBR 1000rr. I was good until I got to the exhaust valve cables. I REALLY need advice on the best way to disconect them. I really don't want to mess anything up, should I cut them and tie them off? Please [sm=helpout.gif]!
Thank you and I hope everyones weekend is going well!

RE: Slip on Help!!!!!!
Wished I could help you out. I don't have exhaust valve cables on my 600RR so I can't answer what I would do. I can assume... that if I did, I would never go back to the stock exhaust so I'd remove the cables all together.
I’m sure some of the liter bike owners here will tell you what they did.
What slip on?

Take them out.. Don`t cut them you shouldn`t have to and tieing them up will just do your head in. Mark the Servo position (left Side of engine) before anything is moved so it can be returned to its starting position, or you`ll get the fi light hounding ya.
I undid the valve cover on the exhaust first and took the ends out of there, then i went to the servo and undid them from there. then returned the servo to its starting position to match the mark i`d made. To get the cables out you`ll need to remove your tank cover and hinge the fuel tank back, then you`ll be able to just lift the cables out easy.
If you`ve not removed the tank cover before heres what you do:
Take off your seat (2 bolts)
Take off the too covers at the front of the tank cover (2 bolts)
Then undo the 4 bolts holding the tank cover on and lift off
Undo the 2 front bolts on the fuel tank, one either side and hinge it back
