Default Slip-on for 04 CBR1000RR

I bought this bike and the previous owner has a scorpion slip-on and it sounds like ****. It backfires alot when slowing down. Any suggestions on a new slip-on. I want something thats looks good and good sound, not neccesarily just really loud but good quality sound. Thanks

I have a PCIII installed with a downloading map. I've turned it for low end power. The delivery is smooth. Note: I didn't noticed any weirdness with just the slip on and no PCIII. the PCIII did help with power deliver....up and down on the RPMs.

You should be able to tune the idle bounce out. And you will get popping if your pairs system is still hooked up.

I'm a huge fan of Akrapovic. They look great (they don't stick out, they have an OEM quality fit and finish), and they have a very deep sound.

I'm NO FAN of loud, buzzy exhaust systems. Seems like all the riders I can't stand always seem to have the anoying, buzzy, ultra-super-freaking-loud exhaust systems that pop and rattle.

So yeah, if you would like a nice deep high quality sound, I would research Akrapovic. That black-carbon one looks sick, but it's listed under the 05-06 1000RR. I'm sure it'll fit the 04's too. I would check into that.

I have a scorpion and I don' have the backfire problems you are having. Honestly, I love my pipe, but different tastes for different people.

I also like the Yosh and Acrapovic. The Yosh is considerably quieter than the scorpion. I am not sure how the akrapovic compares to the scorpion. I would imagine it would be similar in loudness and maybe a bit deeper in tone, but that is only a guess.
