Hell then you might as well stretch it out and slam it dude.....all show and no go. Then whats the point of owning a bike if your just going to sit there leaning against your bike because you don't want to ride it. Afraid of maybe getting it dirty. If you want something different and don't see often then buy a MV agusta. Its a 1000cc and single sided swing arm and hey even italian made. So you can hang out with all the ducati's and bmw's and drink starbucks. Also want something different, custom paint it and put some nice PVM wheels on your bike that will make it different....ride it like you stole it. Don't baby it....if so buy a moped too.

RE: single sidded swingarm
what's with all the bashing around here? lol. i read the original posts and all paul0044 said was that he was interested in converting to a single-sided swingarm. nothing about building a show bike and definately nothing about not riding it. i like the look of the single-sided swingarms but i personaly wouldn't do it. seems that the bike works and looks just fine to me with the stock one. but if he wants to go for it, more power to him. good luck with the build up paul0044 and make sure to post some pics of the beast when all is said and done.

ORIGINAL: CBR1000RRMARINE
You know what...very true. I think I woke up on the wrong side of the barracks room. Some of what I said did have some truth, just think I went overboard. Maybe that was the Marine in me. SORRY.

Second, WOW, a Marine saying sorry. Now I've seen everything. LOL, Just a joke from an Army officer who started in the enlisted ranks almost 18 year ago.
Thanks to all military forum members for their service.

RE: single sidded swingarm
about $2800 will net you a single sided swingarm that is about 3lbs lighter than a stock one, with comparable rigidity for anyone on this board! Way more than ANYONE here could ever tell the difference about!
I just fitted one to one of our current project bikes, a Ducati S4R (it comes with a SSSA) and not only does it LOOK the biz, it saved 4.5 lbs from stock!
They also maintain the stock position for ratio and leverage, so the suspension WORKS the same as the stock stuff
Email if ya need one
