Did you guys rip out the whole heatsheild or just cut the top piece off?

 

All of the old heat shield is removed.
They provide with the pipe new heat shield with adhesive backing - it's just a thin reflective barrier.

 

The dealer called me today to tell me the pipe came in. I ran over and looked at it, funny, no link pipe. Dug out the directions, and low and behold, they sent a pipe for a Kawasaki 636. [:@] So, they will send it back and try to get me the right one.
