repsol sticker kit

RE: repsol sticker kit
I put my stickers on myself. I looked for several days on spacing and didn’t find an actual template, so I just eyeballed it. Like mentioned earlier, find a few pics on line. Now on putting them on. I’ve read a few people say be careful when you put them on or you will ruin them if you try to reposition them. This is true. But however, this is how you put on any decal on any smooth surface. Get yourself a soft rubber squeegee (you can find at any auto parts store in the auto wash section) get a spray bottle filled with water and just a hint of dish soap, auto soup or what ever soap turns you on. Clean the area that the sticker will be placed on very good. Now begin to peel off the sticker from the backing. As you begin to do this, go ahead and spray the back of the sticker so that when you peel the backing off of it, it doesn’t roll back on itself and ruin it. Now spray the area that the sticker will be placed on and apply the sticker to it. Now you can adjust the sticker as many times as you like (as long as it has water under it of course) and put it in the exact position that you want. When it is where you want it, very carefully and gently squeegee over the top of the sticker to remove the water from behind it. I recommend starting from the center of the sticker and working your way to one end. Don’t worry. You will not remove the adhesive from the sticker. Once the sticker cures (depending on your temperature) that sticker will not go anywhere. Good luck.

Not that i have a repsol blade but if i was gonna do it i`d definatley take both belly pans off and have em side by side on a table of some sort. Then you can not only apply them easier without crawling round the floor, but you`ll be able to compare sides at a glance to make sure that both sides are as close as they can be to bein symetrical. After all you don`t want the stickers in a different order on each side do ya?

Reminds me of when my brother had an old Pontiac Fiero. He had two silver steel wheels on one side and two black steel wheels on the other. No one ever knew because you can't see both sides at the same time.
Seriously though, it sounds like Anubis has a good method that will help illuminate any chance of screwing up.

The water method sounds like a good plan. I too wish I would of read that before I put mine on. I did it dry and used a laminated card out of my wallet. I applied the same sticker on each side in the same order so they were placed in the same location. I peeled the back part way off and stuck one end of the sticker and lined it up then with the card kind of squeegied across the sticker and peeling the back off as it layed down. I won't lie. I still ended up with some small air bubbles on the bigger stickers. The Michelin man was the hardest because of the contours in the sides of the fenders. One came out good and the other had a few wrinkles. None of which is that noticable unless you get right up close to it. So they were not as easy as I thought to put on. One cool thing about them is that they look black but they are really the same color as the bike along with the other dark stickers on the bike. Like the large Repsol logo, also metalic blue. I was told that the paint has a black base coat, then the blue metal flake over that. So it all looks black unless your in bright light or sun.
I added purple Leds over the front fender and inside the fairing to illuminate it some. Looks very cool.
The end.

Its only the stickers on the belly pan - the sponsor ones, apparently bridgestone complained because there is a michelin sticker there but the bikes come with bridgestones...etc etc etc....all politics, so honda decided to give the buyer the option to put sponsor stickers on

It is mostly the sponsor stickers that go on the bottom but there are some more that you can put were ever you want. For intance mine came with an extra square Repsol sticker that typicaly goes on the tank cover, then there are about three of the Gas jeans that go on the two high sides of the wind screen area and one on the nose. I put one of mine on the front fender so I could put my Nickey Hayden number 69 (I bought seperate) on the nose. That about covers it.
