rear view camera...lose mirror on RR?
I hate the mirrors on my RR.....
Ran across this site for a rear view camera:
http://www.carterrv.com/crv/crviis.d...ANT-350SV-MS50
A little pricey...but I can toss the mirrors....
Any suggestions on a 1000rr as to where to mount the 3.5" screen?
Anyone have one of these with pics?
thanks
TJ

This thread has some info on a camera for a lot less:

Canadian tire has a car kit... camera has to be weather proof already as it is for the rear bumper. Apparently a wireless connection between camera and display. You'd just need to run power to it from the battery, and perhaps a relay to the horn to power it off when the bike is off.

I would never ditch my mirrors. Yeah, you have to tuck in your arm when you want to see out of them, but it's better than being forced to head checking in rush hour traffic. You take your eyes off the road for a second, look back and.......bam. Rear bumper sandwich (they don't taste too good, don't let the Food Network fool you, lol.).
Just try it, tape off your mirrors and ride around town. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about after 20 minutes of city riding. Trust me.

I would leave them on, but if you must, I would just look back instead of dishing out that much money for a rear view monitor and since there really isn't any convenient place to mount that. People would want to steal that in my area too. Just be extra careful during lane changes since you have to look back. If you do go the camera route, the best place I can think of is right above the speedo or flat on the tank, but I feel like the first would obstruct turning. Happy riding.
