Potential 2008 CBR1000rr owners look here first!
Any of you seen the 1000rr.net postings of the dyno runs on the new 08 1000rr USA spec bikes compared to the UK bikes?
Look to http://www.hooliganbiketech.net/hond...frameindex.htmfor an idea of problems and start complaining to Honda.
I don't remember anyone mentioning this on this site yet but thought those of you should know about the issues they are seeing.
Supposedly the UK spec model has closer to 166HP and 80Ftlbs but the US version has 144HP and 75ftlbs.
Its a big discussion over at the 1000rr.net site but I will just wait and see what you guys say over here.

It says it right in the article. Different tempertures, different altitudes, humidity, Dynoes, Bikes, all make a difference. You can Dyno your same Bike on two different days, and get different results. The UK being so different probably has something to do with air in that part of the world, I'm guessing.

I think people must be completely DUMB to think that its even worth starting a thread over. My car runs a 14.5 without an exhaust i put an exhaust on and ran 14.8. Same thing with dynos, different dyno ie mustang dynos read the highest, humidity, temperature, rider weight, blah blah blah.
You can make 150whp on the 08RR then take it to a dyno the next day and make 140whp because its incredibly humid. The more humid the air is the less air your actually getting into the motor since its more/less dense (forgot which one it is).
Id have to see specs for both sheets, since most Honda bikes are dynoed in Cali id assume that would have a lot to do with it. Take it to maine and dyno it on a cold day and you'll get 166whp.

Well I mean Dyno's are effected by everything,
Well not the Dyno. but your bike. humidty, elevation, hell the octain in your bike..
Everything plays a part and unless you have perfect ideal everything your bike will run diffrent.
You can dyno your bike in Houston then drive to colorado and dyno it and lose 10HP because your 12,000 feet higher in Elevation.
same thing if you went to Miami and had humidity of 70%.
I dont care at all what ONE test in Europe says.
And for the record I have yet to read ANYTHING that says the 08 has less then 157HP
