Please Help: Thoughts on buying this bike
Hey Guys,
I used to ride an F4i and I am looking to upgrade to an 1000rr. I am going to test ride this bike today but I have some concerns about the mileage and the fact that tipping it over at low speed cracked the front faring. If anyone has ANY opinions, would you please share them? I could really use the help.
Thank you,
Justin (still a noob)

RE: Please Help: Thoughts on buying this bike
I have talked him down to $7400 with all of the gear which I would think I can ebay for $400+. I already have gear so I have no use for it other than to take the price down even further. Still seems high thought, huh? I just moved here from Michigan about 6 months ago, how big of a pain in the a$$ is out of state title? Do you know if it is expensive?
Thanks,
Justin

my roommate is on the 5th week of bull**** trying to get this 600RR titled in his name and his mom WORKS at the court house that does the titles. he bought the bike in Texas but the title has been in loophole after loophole. imo it's just never worth buying an out of state bike thats priced the same as an instate bike, and you can tell him that. Why would you pay top dollar for a bike you have to fix? same thing if you have to fix the title or the tires or the plastics on the bike, it's something you gota pay to fix and take time out to fix. IMO take $$ off the bike, then it's worth the headache otherwise walk.
#1 rule about bying a bike is wait. there's always a better deal out there then what you buy.

^^ agreed
it's a nice bike no doubt, but for $200 more i could pick up a brand-new one in vegas..I don't believe in anyone that says "Firm" when i'mshopping. There are hundereds of deals out there, this one seems too much of a headache anyways.
side-note; lockless is that your girl getting it on with another girl in the signature? [8D]nice 08' also( take off the ugly mud-flap)

I'd agree with everyone else to an extent.Prices these days on any sportbike is so subjective that one with 2k miles vs one with 9k could have as little price difference as 300 bucks. It looks like this bike has a few thousand in modifications as well although to me the mods and gear wouldn't be worth crap in my book unless it was exactly what I was looking for. I'd just do a little research on what it would cost you to fix the fairing and deduct it from $7,400.00. If he doesn't bite - his problem. I know it's hard to be patient and annoyingly listen to everyone else say "be patient" but to hold out and find what you love for the $$$ will be worth it.

Aboveis an example of what an '06 CBR 1000 costs in MN that has been down once. Now keep in mind the fairings aren't cracked at all - it just has a few scratches on the frame but only 1800 miles. I was thinking of picking up another 1000 to mate with my new '08 1000 and talked the guy down to $7000.00 out the door. Also - in MN the prices are little higher than in TX.
Either way best of luck!
