Oil

When changing the oil on a 2007 1krr, reading through the owners manual it says that you should replace the washer every time. Is it that needed to replace? Trying to get used to this whole Honda thing (Suzuki rider in the past).

I replace mine every other time. Just a crush washer that compresses a tiny bit. 22 ft lbs on the plug and 20 for the filter.

I have a 1992 Jeep wrangler and I never changed my crush washer... until last week. I noticed it was leaking ever so slowly from around the drain plug. a dollar bought 4 washers and all it took was one to take care of the problem.

You can go to any auto-parts store. They should have a choice between copper, nylon, etc. Just get the right size.

I wouldn't woory too much since the crush washer lasted 15 years on my jeep.

Never changed those things on my cars or my bikes. I do, however, check for leaks everytime I torque them down. I do use a torque wrench on my bike.

I WORKED FOR THE HONDA DEALER FOR 4 1/2 YEAR'S AND THEY WANTED THE CRUSH WASHER'S REPLACED EVERY OIL CHANGE, BUT I OWN 1 HONDA CIVIC AND 1 ACURA TSX PLUS THE LAWN MOWER AND THE CBR 1000 AND I CHANGE MINE EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE. JUST SO I HAVE PIECE OF MIND THAT I WON'T DRIBBLE ON THE DRIVE WAY. DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS RIGHT FOR YOUR INVESTMENT. THE TORQUE WRENCHE'S CAN GO FROM AS LOW AS 60.00 TO 300. DEPENDING ON BRAND NAME AND QUALITY. I HAVE THREE DIFFERNT SIZE'S FOR DIFFERENT TORQUE SPEC'S, BUT I ALSO PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR MY SNAP-ON TOOL'S. YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. AND DON'T FORGET THAT YOU NEED TO GET THE TORQUE WRENCHE'S CALIBRATED AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. ALSO WHEN YOU ARE DONE USING IT ALWAY'S ZERO IT OUT FOR STORAGE. I HOPE THIS IS ENOUGH INFO FOR YOU, ENJOY THE RIDE.

HASH.
