RE: NOTICE: RECALL '06-'07 models
I just got my Recall also. But, considering I already had the problem fixed last month, I guess I don't have to worry about it. Although, I've heard that ignoring factory recalls voids the warranty. I don't know though. I got the 3 year extended policy. As far as how much time it takes for the problem to occur, I had my bike for exactly 1 year with 4,500 miles on itwhen the tank started to leak. The recall said something about the crack developing due to vibrations on the improperly welded tank. So, I guess it just depends on how bad the weld is on the tank and how much stress is put on it. So, it could happen at any time I suppose. I think its good that certain dealers are replacing them regardless. That way you don't have to worry about it...

Good evening fella's! I took my bike in today to my Honda Dealer here in Columbus, OH. They replaced the gas tank in regards to the recall. I dropped the bike off at 10 am when they opened and they called me at 12:15 pm to come pick it up. They DID replace the tank. They told me ALL Honda Dealers should be replacing the tanks. I hope this helps.

Now the the dealer here says they were given a tool from Honda to messure the welds to make sure they were good. I have not heard a thing about doing a presure check on the tank. It has nothing to do with presure. It is about the weld cracking from the vibration.
Hey I want a BIG Don Sub now. I miss those too. I used to deliver for store number 2. That is the one on Brice rd. It was the 2nd one ever built.

Call another dealer. That is BS. Dealers have tanks on hand. Go to another dealer. I don't live in Columbus anymorebut I had something like that done to me here to.
The dealer told me I had to leave my bike for a day or too. I called another dealer and they got me in and out in 2 hours. Now the next day a friend of mine took his bike to the dealer I bought my bike from which was the first dealer I went to. They got him in and out in an hour and half. They also told him not to tell me that they did that. Cause they had told me to leave my bike. Now isnt that just a bunch of you know what.

I took it to Northwest Honda in Hilliard at Mill Run. They had a box sitting at the Parts Counter full of fuel tanks. I am not sure of the total quantity, but I did not have to wait for them to order one. Call them Monday morning and see if they have one. If they do, they should be able to get you in, serviced, and out the door within a few hours. Marysville Motorsports told me they had to order one for me and it would be a week or so. Yeah right!!! They maybe a Honda Powersports store, but they are full of sh*t.
