New CBR coming soon... Like this week!
Hey everyone, I just sold my R6 today and I'm ready to buy my first liter bike. I've always had a secret crush on the CBR's so thats what I'm getting. I have 2 canidates, one is a slightly used 08 with 1500 miles for $7800 and the other is a brand new leftover 07 for $8400. My problem is this....
I really like the 08's but I keep seeing all these issues they are having when I research the interwebz. The earlier gen. seems to be more reliable. Am I just being paranoid? Should I just go with the 07?

I say go with the 07. I know some people would disagree because the 08 is a different beast, but. How different could it really be?!?!? (Maybe I shouldn't have said that line..lol) I'm just a fan of owning a bike from that 1st mile to the last mile when you get rid of it! PLUS ... I like the 06'-07' tail section better than the new skinny tail.

Great choice
Nice bike I almost bought one that color. You wont regret getting the 08. cheap way to get rid of that rear fender is to disassemble the tail remove wires and cut it off as flush as you can and sand it down smooth. then what i did was take like a die grinder and make a small indentation/channel down the middle of the rear fender where the 2 halves come together then fill the indentation with fiber glass resin. once hard sand smooth. If any imperfections use bondo, spread a layer, let harden sand until smooth, prime, paint. now you have a one piece rear fender nice and smooth and if your like me. I had everything to do it so the cost was 0. Then I went to auto zone and got a package of LED bolt lights for directional lights and drilled a hole on each side of rear fender to mount them. and as for mounting the plate i used a piece of 2"x1/8" aluminum and bent it at a 45* and bolted it to the bottom of the tail section between the rear pegs.
