Well it happened last night for me ! i finally got it , my new baby !!! 1000rr 06 .... i have owned a few bike but never new .. it has a trying 2 weeks i had a co signer out of state and needless to say it was a hudge hassel. but it was all worth while when i got on the bike for the first time last night. WOW!!!!.. this is the greatist thing i have ever rode .. i am sorry if i am just going on and on but you guys have to know what i mean. i can't wait to find some tucson az riders and have some fun riding ..

congrats i just got mine a few weeks ago hey do you guys notice that the valves sound kinda loud is it just like this for the first few hundred miles or so ? anyone

Martso, the loud valaves shouldn't be a problem. I actually posted the same question a bit ago, but after reading through some previous posts, it eased my mind. Mine were really loud but seemed to quiet down after a 100 miles or so. Also, the noise is somewhat expected with these types of machines, and some testers have noted the '06 being a little more mechanically noisy than in prior years.

They should quite down after breaking her in. I just did my breakin service about 2 weeks ago and mine are still a little loud when I first start her up. They quite down after about 30 seconds of warm up.

 

This engine is just notoriously noisy.....if you think the sounds you are hearing are abnormal, then I'd run it back by the dealer. Better safe than sorry.
