Default Need Help! No brake lights!

Hi All,

I just finished installing a Targa fender eliminator on my CBR (061KRR) and was doing a final check when I noticed that the brake lights no longer work.

The fuse is good - the horn and signals still work, and they are on the same circuit.

The taillight is working as well. It just doesn't brighten when I hit the brakes.

Only other thing I've done to this machine is a Scorpion slip-on.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! I don't want to ride without brake lights!

when you installed the slip-on did you mess with the brake actuator on the pedal? (im referring to the black eletrical connector that goes to the front of the bike, not the rear master cylinder)

Check to see if it comes on with the front brake. You may have move the tripping sensor on the rear brake when you installed your scorpion slip-on (BTW-nice choice of pipe).

If it doesn't come on for either the front or rear brake, then I would guess that you have a brake in your wire.

Yes, when installing the slip on I had to remove it. I tried adjusting it to see if that was the problem, but it had no effect.

Yeah, niether front nor rear activate the brake light.

And thanks! I love the Scorpion.

Start simple- make sure the connector under the rear seat cowling is fully connected. Then I would go to wal-mart (or similar) and buy a voltage meter. Check the continuity between the wires and the battery. Good luck!
