Need a few opinions, buying friday.
Quick question, picking up a 1Krr this friday, just not sure which one. Looking at an 06 Silver and 07 Red/Black in the $5k-6k$ range. Not interested in the 08+, not really a fan of it's looks and performance wise, for street riding, I would never use it's improved over the 07 abilities anyways.
So here's the two bikes.
06 Silver 1Krr, perfect condition, 10k Miles, CF Jardine Exhaust & PCIII - $5400
07 Red/Black, perfect condition, 6.3k Miles, stock everything.
$6000
Which would you guys go for? If I buy the 07 I'll spend prolly another $600+ or so installing a pipe and pcIII, but at same time a pcIII is usually a sign that a bikes been used ridden hard. Though it seems kinda unlikely that a 1krr could actually be ridden hard enough on the streets to suffer massive wear without killing yourself. Any other significant differences between the two besides the swingarm color? $600 bucks in savings by buying the 06 could buy alot of new goodies and gear.
Thanks in advance, figured I should stop into the 1krr section for some "expert" opinions before I finalize my choice. Personally I'm leaning towards the silver one. Spoke with the guy on the phone to work out some deals/details and he seemed like a good sort as well.

Heh, I know, seems like a contradiction but it's not about performance gains. I like aftermarket pipes for sound, not for performance and the pcIII would just be to fix the air/fuel for the new pipe/airflow. Honestly, who needs to improve the street performance or a liter? Call me shallow, but I prefer the sound of aftermarket pipes over stock. In all honesty, who actually buys pipes for any reason other than sound. The hp gains are really low for the price.

man, thats a tough one. the mileage is low enough on both of them to not make a difference plus they are basically the same bike. The added bonus of the exhaust and pc make it a little more interesting, plus, judging by the size of the chicken strip on the rear of the 06, I'd say the owner was a pretty mellow rider, at least when it came to curves, so I wouldn't worry too much about it being ridden hard.
Having said that, I've never been a fan of silver bikes. I really like the black and red. I would almost rather spend extra money for a color I like, than a color I can live with. But to each his own, some people like the silver.
Like I said, tough choice. I can't be any help at all.... sorry...
