Default Miles on your tires

I just put 3200 miles on my bike and had to replace the rear tire. Does this sound right? Had bridgestone stock tires. They cost around 150 plus tax to replace.

The most I ever got on any of my sport bikes had been about 4K, and that one I wore through to the carcus rubber down the cneter. I replaced the rear only once and what a mistake the bike handled the crap. ( yes they were the same tires)

What kind of tires are you running? If they are sport touring then that sounds about right. If you get some better, Stickier ones, 3500-4k sounds more right. My brother has Metzler... I think z 6 is this right?... on his 954 and I rode it the other day and going around a 30 at 70 it started feeling pretty sketchy like I was gonna slide. with my pirelli diablo corsas I can take a 30 at 80 and am not scared at all. I have 1700 mileson these tires and I probably only have another 1500 or so left but the confidence they give you will make you a better rider. Or more stupid.. Depending on how crazy they make you.

I average 1200 miles rear and depending on the brand 1200-1700 fronts. How you ride and where you live seem to be the biggest reasons on tire wear. How much you weigh and how well your suspension is set up for your riding style and weight are very important as well.

Be happy with anything over 3000 miles for a rear.

I'm with AudiCBR on this, I usually average about 5-6000 miles on Dunlop Qualifiers. And I ride rather aggressively for the street. But then, I do have a lot less torque to deal with than you liter-bike guys.

1200-1700 miles????
Have you been checking your tire pressures every week???
You must have some rough roads around you. Or very hot roads like cmmoist.
Have any of you tried the Pilot Powers yet? I read they are one of the stickiest tires out there but they are also supposed to last.

I think life of the tire also depends on how much rubber they put on the tire tread area. Some have more mm of tread than others.

Life of the rear tire also greatly increases when you stop doing burnouts.
