Default Lowering a 08-11 1000rr

Hello all,

I'm new here and more than likely I'll be purchasing a 08-11 1000rr at some point this year. Being a short rider 5'5" I was thinking of lowering the bike an inch. I'm sure this will affect the handling, but how much? Any input will be appreciated.

ive never lowered a bike, if your not racing i think one inch will be okay. any more and you have to do the front too probably.

keep in mind the bike was designed to preform at that height.

I just recently purchased a 2008 CBR 1000RR and i have her lovered 2" and she still rides like a charm. But i went a little further by adding swingarm extension. so go ahead and lower away. you will just have to feel the bike out and get use to the new handling and response feeling she gives you when u go hard on the throttle

I'm 5 foot 6, and I lowered my Blade by 30 mm. Cut the rear link and drill and fit 2 pieces of steel plate on both sides. Bolt together with 4 bolts with lock nuts. Remember to drop the front triple clamps by approx 1 cm. Both pegs must be the exact same drop. Any lower than this will cause the bike to bottom out on speed bumps, etc..
