lots of mods this week
spent an entire week working on the bike
started with removing the stock intake and replacing it with the Carbon fiber one from A tech nice throaty growl now sitting there at idle the hole up front is so huge i am thinking about putting a mesh in to keep low flying birds from getting into my airbox the next mod i did was replace the standard boring oem throttle with a HRC 1/6 turn throttle now i dont have to change my hand position to go from idle to full throttle its basically like moving the throttle almost twice as far with the same wrist movement then i fitted and installed my full cheetah race plastics right now the bike is completely tore apart so i can get the race plastics painted, remounted and loaded up onto the new 5x10 flatbed trailer i just bought to haul it to race days i think my time on the street is almost over and a track whore is born here are some pics of before and after the intake plus the track plastic prepaint |

RE: lots of mods this week
Did your new race plastics go on without any problems or was it a bit of a chore to get it to fit properly? I have heard mixed reviews about aftermarket plastics, so I would like to hear your opinion. Thanks

RE: lots of mods this week
the only problem i had with the cheetahs is that the holes for the tank cover had to be slightly elongated towards the front to get it to line up with the brackets
other than that unlike most other plastics all of the mounting holes were predrilled you definetly need a uni bit to open up the hole large enough for the stepped fairing bolts but every one was in the right place total time to mount everything was about an hour because of the 06 plastic design you only need 1 dzus fitting per side down near the bottom where the upper and lower connect every other mounting point is identical to the oem even the windscreen |
