Looking at 2 bikes...2005 or 2006 CBR?
I found a 2005 CBR1000 and a 2006 CBR1000 both for the same price. The 2005 is a Repsol, and the 2006 is the blue with yellow striping. I like the looks of the Repsol, but is there enough of an advance between the 2005-2006 years to avoid the 2005? Or is the differences minor? Wiki lists a bunch of stuff, but I was hoping to get your input...

in my opinion, i would go for the 06 rr with some improvements made with the 06' version and not having to deal with the stator/rectifier recall issues from the 04'/05' rr's. my take... i don't recall BIG changes between the two however an increase with hp/trq...and of course astectics..

2006 Blue and yellow is king, more rare than a repsol too. only made for 06.
And the performance handeling ect, ect, ect, newer=better.
lighter, higher redline, better compression ratio 12:1 over 11.5:1 i believe, I could be wrong.
did i mention blue and yellow is king.

I am partial to the 05 repsol... as I own one. I havent ridden an 06, but have readreally good things about them. The difference in them really isnt warranted to stay away from the 05. They really were very minor tweaks. But......................................
If it were me, and the price is the same, I would probably go for the 06. The Repsol didnt add anything but paint to the bike in 05. If you really like the repsol, buy the 06 and get some 07 Repsol plastics for it. You could probably buy a set of repsols and sell your yellow and blue ones and probably break about even on it.
Even though it is a Repsol, it should be$500.00 to$1000.00 less than the 06 if the mileage is comparable.
How much are you talking about?

I have an '06. I absolutely love it. Thebike was redone in 06. The bike has higher torque and HP. I payed in the low 7's for mine last summer and it only had 119 miles on it. I would try and negotiate the price a little depending on the miles it had. I love the look of the Repsol edition better than the Blue/Yellow combo, but its only an appearance upgrade and not a performance one.

Nice choice!
Like sweetdeal stated, the blue/yellow seems to be harder to find then the repsol is. Plus you wont find guys running out to buy aftermarket kits in the blue/yellow theme, its always the repsol edition they go for.
BTW welcome to the site!
