Default Left Crankcase Rear Cover Removal??? 07 1000rr

I'm trying to gain access to the front sprocket... I have temporarily removed the slave cylinder and took off the shift linkage... but I can't remove the crankcase cover (left side) that covers the front sprocket and chain. Looks like I have to remove the water pump to do this... Am i missing something? There is not enough clearance to pull the cover out it either gets hung up on the water pump or on the shaft that the slave cylinder pushes on to actuate the clutch. Help! I have the 04 1000rr manual that everyone else has downloaded but the cover looks slightly different and so does the water pump on that thing.

Thanks!

slide out the rod for teh slave cylinder.. it just pulls right out ..

sometimes it gets hung up on the water pump hose.. just push it out of the way ..

if you got all the bolts out .. it will just come out
