knock in suspension
got a 2016 1000rr, if i go over a small drop in the driveway to road theres a knock in the suspension. sometimes when i hit small bumps in road too. seems to be supspension front . triple tree area. seems to be a solid knock too. has anyone else had this problem
I don't have the problem, however there are some general things one can check:
- check the steering bearings: squeeze the frontbrake hard to be guaranteed that the bike won't move. Then push and pull hard on the bike forward and backward without sitting on it or apply the rear brake. If you feel the bike bumping you are down to 2 options: your steerbearings have to much play on it. Or the front suspension has a problem.
- To check the front suspension: push and pull on the bike vertically without applying the brakes or sitting on it. If you feel it bumping now and previously too, it is most likely there is something wrong with the forks. If not then it is definitely the steering bearings.
- If in neither in the 2 previous checks happened anything then do the same checks but then for the rear. So apply the rear brake hard and move it forward and backward. And after that without brake upward and downward.
- If you still don't have any results look at loos components in the frame and if all the bolts are still tight.
Good luck and let us know.
